Thousands of Porsche employees are to receive a €6,000 (US$ 8,750) bonus due to the company’s exceptional economic performance for the recently-concluded business year 2007/2008 that ended in July 31. The bonus that comes a year after a similar payment of €5,200 was made for the 2007 fiscal year will be given to each full-time employee who joined the firm prior to August 1, 2007. According to Porsche, €3,800 of this year’s bonus relates to the operative result, €700 is from financial transactions and €1,500 is in honor of Porsche’s 60th brithday. What kind of bonus are you getting this year?

It’s only been a week since Porsche released a teaser image of its forthcoming Panamera partially revealing the vehicle’s front-end but tuners are already preparing to introduce their proposals for the sport sedan. One of the first tuning firms to announce that it is readying a series of performance and styling upgrades for the Panamera is 9ff, a German tuning firm that specializes on Porsche models.

Whatever the product, you’ll always have a percentage of buyers who aren’t satisfied with the final outcome -even when it concerns a vehicle like the Porsche 911 Turbo. Targeting those customers, German tuner DKR has presented a new performance pack for the 997 Turbo that includes both mechanical and aesthetic upgrades. Thanks to the optimized ECU software and the new sport exhaust system, the latest 911 Turbo’s 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged boxer engine delivers an output of 540HP and a maximum torque of 775Nm, up from 480HP and 620Nm respectively. The engine kit costs €5,529.

If we are to believe a report from the Dutch car site ‘Autoweek’, these are the first official photos of the facelifted Porsche Boxster and Cayman models, both of which are due to be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November according to Carscoop’s sources. The site claims that these pictures were sent to them by an anonymous reader who accidentally happened to stumbled upon them on Porsche’s online car configurator.

The first unofficial but bare-naked shots of the Porsche Panamera’s interior have hit the web revealing the four-door sports sedan’s dashboard in detail. All in all, Porsche’s DNA is clearly visible in the design - though somewhat more upscale when compared to the German automaker’s other vehicles. Aside from the “loaded” instrument panel what really caught our attention is the elevated lower part of the center console that houses more buttons than a Klingon starship. Maybe it’s only us, but the center console’s design seems to be inspired from the products of high-end cell phone maker Vertu - you can compare the photos after the jump and decided for yourself if we’re right or not.

Someone seems to be pretty busy today down at TECHART’s headquarters as the Porsche tuning specialist issued its second consecutive release today. Following the announcement on the styling package for the recently facelifted Porsche 911 (click here details and images), TECHART has released details on a new daytime running light system for the Cayenne SUV that will make its premiere at Germany’s Essen Motor Show on November 28.

The second generation Porsche Boxster that’s due sometime in 2011 will feature a new base model equipped with a fuel efficient four-cylinder engine according to a report from UK’s Autocar magazine citing company insiders. The last 4-cylinder Porsche was the 1990s 968 which was the final model in an evolving line that started in the mid-1970s with the introduction of the 924 and continued with the 944. But unlike the 968 that was equipped with one of the largest four bangers ever to be offered in a production car with a displacement of 3.0-liters, the next-generation Boxster’s straight-four is expected to be quite smaller, featuring a displacement of 2.0 to 2.4-liters.

As the construction of Porsche’s new museum in Stuttgart, Germany comes to an end with only minor work left to be done, the company decided to install the first twelve exhibition vehicles. Porsche said that the relocation of all 80 exhibits that have been safe-kept in an off-premises warehouse in Zwingenberg am Neckar will have been completed by the end of this week. The first exhibits that go on display in the Porsche museum today include, among others, a 356 Cabriolet, an original ‘11′ model and the first prototype of the 924.

At a time when most automakers are struggling with a sharp downturn, making a €8.586 billion profit (before taxes) in the fiscal year 2007/2008 that ended on July 31 definitely comes to a surprise - especially when we’re talking about a company of the size of Porsche. The prior-year figure had been €5.857bn meaning that Porsche’s net profit jumped a whopping 46%. But what’s even more startling is the fact that the German automaker reported that from the €8.586bn it earned in the 2007/2008 fiscal year, less than €1bn was attributable to operating profits from its car division. So where did the €7.8bn come from?

The facelifted 2009 Porsche 911 has been around in Europe like what - a few months now? Well that was more than enough time for the owner of this Dutch-license plated 997 Carrera 4S to get so bored of the coupe’s color that he decided to take drastic measures. And while most people would simply go for a different finish, maybe even a matte color, this fella went for a full military camouflage look. We would like to believe that he chose to wrap the 997 in tape (a process known as “foiling”) instead of the classic paint job method.
